TPT Sellers Challenge - Makeover Madness!

I am SO excited for this TpT Seller Challenge hosted by these 4 lovely ladies:

But, I'm so embarrassed!  Here's why..

1.  I haven't blogged since March 8th. 

2.  The product I picked to makeover was A MESS.

I chose to makeover one of my top 10 products - Nouns Are Everywhere.  :)  This little thing needed some serious work.

Let's start with the cover....

Seriously?  I used clip art that wasn't even in the product.  Also, I love a good frame here and there but, come on.  All that blue space is driving me nuts.  My NEW and IMPROVED cover has clip art that actually goes with the product.  Much better (and bigger) font, less blue space, and (in my opinion) MUCH prettier!

Now....onto the MESS of the product.

I hate, hate, hate wasting paper when I'm printing and laminating.   I like to have one, swift cut to cut cards apart. Less white space!

The original product had so much wasted space.  The cards had teeny tiny little pictures and words on them.  It was a mess.

I neatened it up, added better clip art, made the words and pictures bigger on the cards, and got rid of that crazy white space everywhere.

I also prettied up the printables that are included in the product, too!

Overall, I'd say that this was COMPLETELY worth the time.  It's amazing how, over time, your view of a good product changes.  A couple years ago, I thought the original product was AMAZING. ;)

Where did the weekend go?!

I spent Saturday shopping, napping, cleaning, and creating this fun little guy.

I went to bed wayyyy too late Saturday night and woke up wayyy to early this morning.  I worked out (I'm down 18 bs!) and  I went to a shower for my good friend from work.  There were tons of people there and it was very pretty.  I'm glad I got to meet all of her family that I hear so much about.  :)

I know I promised a freebie this weekend but I've been pretty busy.  Please forgive me?!  I will definitely whip something great up throughout the week and offer it as a late Teacher Appreciation gift at the end of the week.  :)

Sunday Blues and Nouns!

How is it Sunday already!?  The weekends have been flying by way too fast lately! Tomorrow I'm headed to a Community Schools Forum.  I'm on my school's Strategic Planning Committee.  This is my second year on the committee so I feel like I have a better grasp of the purpose of the committee and most of the info.  Our principal asked if some of the committee members could attend this Community Schools Forum and I jumped at the chance.  But now, part of me is thinking that I'd much rather be teaching my sweeties than sitting at a boring meeting. Oh well, I'll make the most of it and hopefully learn something new!

We're starting nouns in ELA.  Nouns are fun to teach but my kiddos seem to struggle with being able to identify nouns in sentences (especially once their brains are confused with verbs and adjectives!).  I'm really going to buckle down and do some cute activities so they get excited about good ol' nouns! I have 3 items on TpT that I'm planning on incorporating.  But, I want to make more!  In the meantime (since I am completely out of my creative juices...), I made this little, simple book to use when we're ending our unit.  Click the picture to grab a copy!
